David Silverman, MA, LMFT studied at Stanford University where he graduated with Departmental Honors in psychology. He learned to use evidence-based methods to treat anxiety, depression, compulsive behavior, and psychotic symptoms. David worked in the Palo Alto Veteran’s Clinic, dealing with clients back from the war, wounded, frustrated, experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder. He went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University. There, David learned about mindfulness, CBT and Solution Focused Therapy.
While my experience is wide-ranging, he’s especially passionate about working with creative people, in various businesses, be they advertising executives, actors, artists, filmmakers — and especially writers.
David works with creative professionals of all kinds, but especially Hollywood writers, and he coaches; Overcoming writer’s block, strategies to improve writing skills, psychology of writing, creative writing tools, career burnout, reinventing yourself, and “Breaking In; Alternative Strategies,” a class he’s taught at UCLA.
